End of the Season Plans

Plan ahead now for the end of the season party.  Make arrangements with your teams and parents to join the AYSO Board in recognizing all the players, coaches, referees, and team parents for all their hard work during the season.  The board will provide the entree and the teams can bring side dishes or whatever else you may need.

We would like to say Thank You to the following companies for taking part in our end of season festivities

L.A. Moonwalk -They provide the blow ups for the kids to enjoy when they had finished playing.CASTLE 13 X 13 X 15 175 LBS

The Kettle Stop made Kettle Corn and Cotton Candy.

 Practices Night helpful reminders:

  1) Coaches determine their practice nights.  They also determine whether or not they are going to practice in rainy/cold weather.  The regional board will only cancel practice if there is Lightning in the immediate area.  If you don't get a call from your coach or the team parent, then assume you will still be holding practice.  If you are in doubt, call your coach.

2)  Shinguards are required at all practices and games.  If your player attends a practice or game game without shinguards, they will not be allowed to play.

3) For your childs safety, earrings and jewelry are not allowed at practices and games.  Sweatbands and hoodies are also not allowed.  These are all items that could be pulled on and cause injury to your child.

4) To allow the coaches to teach your child, we ask that on practice nights you stay around the trailer or near the parking lot.  We understand that you would like to be there to watch your child, but sometimes we tend to be a distraction to our children and they don't pay attention to the coaches and what the coaches are trying to teach.

 Coaches and Referees Wanted!!

We have the players and the teams are created, however we still are short a few coaches and referees.  We want our children to be able to play and enjoy the game, however if we can't get enough coaches to coach or referees to ref, we may have to cut the number of teams we have to accomodate the staff we have.

We will provide you with the training you need and you will have the support staff necessary to succeed.

If interested, please contact either the Coach Administrator or the Referee Administrator.

There is still time to get signed up for the training!!

In the News!!

AYSO Executive Board members approves a 6th Philosophy.

"Player Development" became the sixth philosophy of AYSO as over two thirds of the Executive Membership voted to add the first new philosophy of the organization in nearly 25 years. It joins Everyone Plays™, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching and Good Sportsmanship as the foundation tenets of the organization. The vote took place May 24 at the organization’s National Annual General Meeting in Dallas, Texas.

The goal of Player Development is to embrace the objective of improving the soccer skills and knowledge of every AYSO player, from VIP to U-19.

Player Development:  We believe that all players should be able to develop their soccer skills and knowledge to the best of their abilities, both individually and as members of a team, in order to maximize their enjoyment of the game.

We are pleased to announce that AYSO Region 1161 has joined with Herbalife in promoting child nutrition

Become an AYSO Board Member!

AYSO is an all volunteer organization.  This region would not be successfull if we didn't have dedicated parents on the board to help us with the daily operations of the region.  The board is always looking for friendly faces and bright ideas to help us with the success of our region.  Whether or not you want to be on the front lines or you want to be in the back, there is a position for you.  Contact the Regional Commissioner Scott Williams for more information.  Remember our organization is only as good as its volunteers.

Become an AYSO Coach or Referee!

AYSO coaches and referees are parents just like you! All are volunteers and many didn't have a background in soccer. Our region grows each year. The kids need your help and guidance!
